When I was younger, I didn’t really know what I could do when I grew up. People asked me and… but in the end, I thought the idea of discovering things would be really cool and the reason I thought so was that I read a quote from the Odyssey Clock that said that sufficiently advanced technology is no different from magic and it really is true. If you go back 300 years, the things we honored today will burn at risk for you. You know, being able to fly, being able to see long distances, being able to communicate, and having instant access to all the information in the world from almost anywhere in the world. It’s something that can really be magic.
It would be considered the magic of the past. In fact, I think it actually surpasses it because there are so many things that we take for granted today that were not even imagined in the past. They weren’t even into magic so it actually went beyond that. So I thought, well you know if I could do some of these things. Basically, if I could take the technology forward, it’s like magic and it’s really great and… I always had some existential crisis because I was trying to figure out what I meant. For example, what are the purpose of things and I have come to the conclusion that if we can advance the knowledge of the world, if we can do something that expands the field and expansion of consciousness, then we will be able to ask the right questions more wisely and that is the only way forward?
I think about what technology solutions are needed to achieve a specific goal and then try to make as much progress as possible. I think being a multi-planetary species, the presence of stars there is important for the long-term survival of humanity. But then the part that I personally find most inspiring is that it creates a sense of adventure and it excites people into the future. Now if you consider two futures, one where we are finally confined to Earth, something terrible happens or another future where we are there on many planets, even going beyond the solar system, I think the second version is incredibly exciting and inspiring and in the morning There must be a reason to get up. You know, life can't just be about solving problems. Otherwise, what is the benefit? There must be some things that people find inspiring and make life worth living.
When my brother and I were studying our first company instead of getting an apartment we just rented a small office and we lay on the couch and we showered at the YMCA and we got so hot we had a computer. The website was up to during the day and I was coding all night seven days a week. And I was somehow briefly a girlfriend during that time and to stay with me, she had to sleep in the office.
So, like every waking up, work hard. I would say this if you are specifically starting a company. The tendency of natural people is deliberate thinking. So, what is the difference between saying a challenge to entrepreneurs well, believing in your ideas, and following some unrealistic dreams versus perseverance? And this ... it's really hard to say. Can you tell the difference between these two things? So you have to be very strict in your own analysis.
I mean, of course, very hard and then it will work like hell. I mean working 60 hours per week, 80 to 100-hours per week. All of these things improve the odds of success. When everyone tells you this is a crazy idea, how do you think about making a decision? Or where do you find the inner strength to do it? Well, first of all, I would say that I really think I feel the fear quite strongly. So, it’s not just the absence of fear to me like that, I’ve felt it quite strongly. But there are times when if something is important enough, you believe enough that you do it despite the fear.
People don’t think, well I’m scared about it and so I shouldn’t do it. It is normal to feel fear. So you just feel it and its importance leads you to do it the way you want to do it. If you just accept the possibilities, it reduces fear. Drive override fear. It is to believe in the future and think that the future will be better than in the past. And I can't think of anything more exciting than going out and being among the stars.
